UK Athletics (UKA), the National governing body for the premier Olympic sport of athletics has a vacancy for a Financial Accountant within the Finance department at our Head Office in Solihull.
The successful candidate will have relevant experience at a similar level with strong accountancy skills and will be a qualified or part qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent. You must be financially astute and be able to manage multiple budgets, and have sound knowledge of accounting software. Experience with Open Accounts and Open People would be an advantage. You should be a confident and personable individual and a keen team player. | Job Description |
Duties for this post will include:
• Applying financial procedures that safeguard the company's assets and ensure accurate reporting of the financial affairs • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and accounting • Maintain accounting package with emphasis on the general ledger and the chart of accounts and associated documentation • Prepare financial reports required by management, funding partners, auditors and other interested parties, including budgets, forecasts and variances • Assist in the development of effective accounting systems to meet the needs of the developing organisation. Provide support to the other members of the team on the use of the accounting software and systems, troubleshooting problems and providing solutions when required • Performing the Finance Manager’s tasks if necessary and have the ability to cover in the absence of the Finance Manager ensuring the department continues to operate effectively.
